Slavery: A Broadview Anthology of British Literature Themed Custom Text

Broadview anthologies include many readings suitable for literature courses with a focus on slavery and/or abolition. If you are teaching a course in these areas, we invite you to pick and choose among the available readings to assemble a custom text that suits your course needs.

Please note: This list is meant to provide options for instructors assembling custom texts, and it is not intended to be used in its entirety.

Selections from other Broadview books can also be added to your custom text. This includes material from other Broadview anthologies, as well as selections from any of our more than 400 stand-alone editions, from The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano to The Octoroon and from Thomas Clarkson and Ottobah Cugoano to Clotel. You can add selections from these other books by navigating through the titles listed under the “Books” tab at top. If the selection or book you wish to add is not listed there (or if you’d rather work directly with a person to assemble your custom text), please contact our Custom Text Coordinator at custom@broadviewpress.com.
